Vacuum Oven For Depyrogenation of Lab Equipment And Utensils

Vacuum oven is a lab equipment used for depyrogenation of utensils and does all the heating work in a state of vacuum. It is meant for use by specially trained operators.

There is a wide range of heating equipment used in labs. Many of these can be classified as ovens. Apart from the regular microwave oven that is used by lab technicians to heat their food, any other type of oven found in a lab is scientific equipment! Vacuum Oven is one such common scientific category of oven that you will find in any lab. It is commonly used for powder drying and depyrogenation of utensils. They are fitted with special pumps to create a vacuum and heating systems to raise the temperature of items placed in the device as needed.

Common features of vacuum dryer ovens

These devices can be made in both rectangular and round shapes.  The temperature controller in the machine is a PID controller based with both PID and SID. A PT100 temperature sensor is also fitted in the oven. Inner chamber of the device is made of thick gauge stainless steel which is argon welded. External cabinet is made of PCRC. The door is insulated, and it comes with a leak proof glass window to view inside the cavity. Gasket is made of Neoprene and shelving in the cavity is made of stainless steel. The oven can generate a vacuum in the range of 0 to -760 mmHg.

Design and construction of dryer ovens

These devices can be made to order in sizes that start from as small as 10 liters and can go as large as 2000 liters. The outer body is made of mild powder coated steel, but the buyer can option for 304 or 316 grade stainless steel. The oven is made of double walls and their inside is insulated with ceramic wool. These ovens are made with two ports for vacuum inlet and outlet which can handle pressures between 1 to 30 psi. Doors of the oven are also made of strong steel with neoprene gaskets to ensure safe vacuum seal.

Temperature control in vacuum ovens

Since this is a lab oriented vacuum oven, only the best heating and temperature control subsystems are used in it. Heat is monitored by a PT100 sensor and a PID controller checks how much heat should be supplied in the oven. Uniformity of heat is not a concern in such devices, so they do not come fitted with any in-chamber circulation fan. Users can heat up the devices from room temperature to 200 degrees Celsius in a matter of minutes. Double display is provided with SV, PV and autotune facility. Touch screen based display is provided for real time chart display and data logging for archival purposes.

Procuring vacuum dryer ovens

These devices are specialized scientific equipment and are generally procured on industrial scale. It is best to procure these devices online. Buyers must choose a well reputed and long established vendor who will stand by their products and provide service and support for a long time.
